Young Dancers

early childhood dance
Preschool Dance: Creative dance, rhythm, listening skills, gross motor skills, and interpretive dance are a major focus for ages 3-5. Storybook Ballet uses an early dance syllabus developed especially for ages 3-6, creative ideas from our instructors, and childhood stories to increase the children's use of dance as an expressive art form to tell stories through movement and music.
Pre-Ballet A & B: Students ages 5-7 have an opportunity to explore basic ballet training and expressive, artistic movement. Utilizing the developmentally appropriate syllabus from Leap 'n Learn, these classes develop dance skills necessary for serious ballet training while using the students' imagination and encouraging movement dynamics and patterns. The dancing focuses on motor skills, cognitive skills, and social skills beneficial for later in life. Monthly objectives and concepts are shared with students and parents. Students should take class A prior to class B unless otherwise instructed.
Pre-Ballet A is usually for students in Kindergarten, and Pre-Ballet B is usually for students entering 1st grade.
*A discounted tuition rate is offered for taking multiple classes.
